Chapter 2

In our first chapters on academic word lists we introduced three free resources for accessing the most common academic words in English. These were the Academic Word List (AWL) (https://www.wgtn.ac.nz/lals/resources/academicwordlist), the Academic Vocabulary List (AVL) (https://www.academicvocabulary.info/) and the Academic Keyword List (AKWL) (https://perso.uclouvain.be/magali.paquot/resources/). In this second lesson, we next focus on the most useful phrases in English for Academic Purposes that students may wish to learn.
